Time fly's when you're having fun! 2017 certainly didn't disapoint in being an amazing year, both on a personal and photography level! This year my wife and I renewed our wedding vows on our 15th wedding anniversary, a beautiful day surrounded by our closest family and friends, perfect!
I was very proud to have been nominated in the 2017 Muddy Stilettos Business Awards for Berkshire's Best Photographer, totally blown away when I went on to win the award with 42% of the overall vote, good times! 2017 also saw me take the leap from my full time job to become a full time photographer, scary and exiting but with passion and dedication on my side, I know its the winning formula!
Ok, on to the main event, 34 incredible weddings , and 1 more wedding to shoot before the year is out! I have been very fortunate to have met so many amazing couples who have entrusted in me to capture their wedding day through my eyes! I have also been very lucky to work with so many incredible industry providers, from the stunning venues , the talented venue stylists, the incredibly dedicated florists, the passionate transport providers , beyond creative cake makers, the make up artists who arrive super early to make Brides look and feel absolutely fabulous! and not forgetting the people that keep me in the gym every week, the caterers serving up the most amazing food!
It is very difficult to pin point a favourite moment from 2017, it's great to be safe in the knowledge that I am preserving these special moments in time and creating the most amazing memories for generations to come. One particular wedding however, where you realise that the job you do is so very important really sticks in my mind. A beautiful wedding just at the end of summer, the Brides Grandfather had made the journey especially to see his Granddaughter on her wedding day, I caught a snap of them sharing a hug, a beautiful moment! A few weeks after the wedding when I had delivered the images, I had learned that the Grandfather had passed away, it was almost as if he wasn't willing to give up his fight until he had witnessed that special wedding day! Both heart breaking but incredibly special at the same time! The image I took of the Bride and her Grandfather has become one of her all time favourites, and to be able to create memories like that for people makes wedding photography the best job in the world! The image is of course featured in the set below.
What does 2018 hold for me? My wedding photography season starts on the 6th January and I am 90% booked for the year ahead, I must be doing something right! Moving forward and following my leap into full time photography means I can concentrate so much more time and effort into providing the most amazing experience for my couples.
Finally, thank you to each and every person that continues to recommend me to your friends and family , it is so very much appreciated! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas with your loved ones and the most amazing year ahead for 2018! Don't make resolutions, create goals instead, go and smash them, trust me, it will be worth it!
I hope you enjoy my "Best of " selections as much as I did creating them!
